Are you ready to take a step towards overcoming anxiety and finding the peace you deserve?
I understand that beginning the journey towards overcoming anxiety can be nerve-wracking, and it’s natural to have questions along the way. That’s why I’ve created this Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, designed to address any concerns or queries you may have.
If you don’t find your answer below, I invite you to send me an email with your question. I’ll answer it as promptly as possible and then place the question up on this page to help others.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions may vary for each person dependent on severity of symptoms or state of mindset. Typically, a our work together consists of 4 sessions. I leave at least one week between our sessions and provide you with a recording to listen to in between. The provided audio will serve as reinforcement to our work during session time.
What if I can’t afford therapy with you?
Therapy can be very expensive; a celebrity coach may charge thousands of dollars per session and other therapists may give their time for free. This is why I provide treatment options for any financial status.
Services range from free consultation advice and free meditation downloads, to personalised audio products and full online sessions. My service is available to anyone that needs help. Payment plans can be discussed before treatment begins.
What if I don’t have much time?
Any change requires effort and commitment. It’s unfortunate that nowadays change has been linked to ‘taking medication’ and not by updating the bad habits which caused your bad results.
As a comparison, my clients report that they have seen counselors, psychologists or other practitioners weekly, fortnightly or monthly over a stretch of up to a few years. Whereas, I provide 4 individual sessions, each lasting one hour, and each reinforced with an audio recording of the technique taught while in session – PLUS priority responses by phone and email for clients.
Can you spare 4 hours of your life, to change your thoughts and behaviors, so you might enjoy the rest of your life?
Will it definitely be successful?
Whereas, nothing is 100% guaranteed, many times I have been called a ‘Final Hope’. You have taken medication, tried many other therapies and for some reason they have not been successful. It’s obvious why you’d be hesitant to continue. This is why I offer a Free Consultation before therapy of any kind begins.
There are many different techniques to suit different people, no two journeys are the same. So, at the consultation stage, we would discuss what you’ve tried before, how successfully it worked (or didn’t), why it may have not been effective, and how we can overcome that hurdle.
In the past, I have recommended other therapists and treatment options, if I felt that my services were unsuitable.
Will my problems return after treatment finishes?
Throughout our time together, you’ll discover useful techniques that will help you maintain your progress even after our sessions come to an end. You’ll receive ongoing support through email, and you’ll have access to helpful guides and downloadable MP3s.
By consistently practicing these techniques and engaging with the audio materials provided to you, you’ll reinforce and refresh the positive changes you’ve made during our online therapy sessions.
These resources will continue to support you as you continue to strengthen your progress, even once you’ve overcome your initial challenges. Remember, I’m here for you and ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have via email.
What if I’m afraid to talk about my issue?
It might surprise you to learn how often this reason comes up as an excuse. It’s completely understandable to feel hesitant about sharing personal information that you’ve never mentioned to anyone before.
However, it’s important to remember that in order to overcome challenges, it’s necessary to disclose all relevant aspects. There have been many instances where my clients have held back important information, which I later figured out on my own. Sometimes it’s because they didn’t realize the significance of the information, and other times it’s due to feeling embarrassed.
But as our time together progresses and trust is built, it becomes much easier to see how open and non-judgmental conversations can greatly accelerate the your progress. So, rest assured that I’m here to create a safe and supportive space where you can freely share and explore your experiences, ultimately leading to your growth and development.
Will I be judged for my issues?
I used to suffer anxiety, so I certainly won’t judge you. It is entirely up to you to decide to inform others about your journey through therapy. I’ll teach you the necessary confidence tips you need to dramatically reduce your worry of what other people may think.
I adhere to ‘Absolute Client Confidentiality’. This means that at no point will any personal information be disclosed to anyone else, at any time – unless a client is suspected to be of harm to themselves/others or on production of a subpoena from a court of law.
By teaching you techniques of stress reduction, emotional baggage release and on-demand confidence boosts, you will be fully equipped to sing from the rooftops about how your old anxieties do not figure within your thoughts anymore – ergo, no more fear of judgment.
What if I find it difficult to trust people?
Understandably, when negative things happen, we brace ourselves in case it happens again. Perhaps some of us will even avoid the old negative situation. This is why it is important to have the initial free consultation chat, so that we both can discover if we’re comfortable and a good fit.
Successful therapy relies on trusting your therapist in order to form a healing partnership.
I have referred clients onward if I felt I could not work successfully with them, and I have had clients decide not to pursue therapy with me (I have a funny story about that – just ask me). No offense will be taken if you decide not to pursue therapy with me.
I wish success to everyone who inquires about my services. If we don’t see eye to eye – I still wish you the very best of success.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Yes, as long as you’re willing to participate. However, it’s important to note that hypnosis is not recommended for individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If you have severe psychotic illnesses, it’s best to consult with your GP or beforehand.
Will I be asleep?
No, you won’t be asleep, although you’ll feel incredibly relaxed during the session. If you listen to mynd.works audio MP3s late at night or when you’re tired, you may unintentionally drift off into natural sleep. However, hypnosis will continue to work on your subconscious mind even while you sleep.
Will I be asked to reveal personal information or do things I don’t want to do?
Absolutely not. Regardless of how deeply you go into trance, you maintain full control over the situation. You can speak during the hypnosis session, and the audio products won’t ask you to speak aloud. Your subconscious mind will always protect you, ensuring that you only say or do what you choose.
Will you have control over my mind?
No, you are always in complete control. As a therapist, I act as a guide, helping you work through your thoughts and emotions. Together, we’ll empower you to overcome old habits and behaviors and to approach challenges in a more positive way.
Do you work with children?
Yes! If your child struggles with bedtime conflicts, sleep disturbances, fears, phobias, or lacks confidence, I can provide valuable assistance. Children often respond exceptionally well because their imagination and creative minds naturally embrace the techniques. I even design the audio products differently for child sessions.
